Day 1 Done!

Day one done!! Today we went to the farmers market and went on a tour of downtown San Jose!

At the farmers market, we were split into two teams and we’re given a list of foods to buy. Whoever purchased all the items first wins! This activity was tons of fun, but also a great cultural immersion. Also, the food we bought will be the ingredients of the meals served to the kids at the Hope Center. It’s a win-win!

After our tour of historic downtown San Jose, we got to have dinner at Pastor Julio and his wife Ashley‘s home Julio pastors open house church, and Ashley is in charge of the Costa Rica branch of health Partners International. We got to meet and talk with some members of their church, as well as Hope Partners staff.

We praise God for a great first day!

Please pray for tomorrow, because that will be our first day doing campus beautification and we will be meeting the kids for the first time. Pray that we, as an FBC team, would love as God first loved us, and that we can’t help ourselves but seeing God‘s praise and glorify him and everything we do!

Lastly, thank you so much for your support on this trip. It means a lot knowing that there is our wonderful church family back home praying for us and watching out for us.

 ¡Hasta luego!
