Day Two- Worship, Rest before we work

 Today we were able to attend church and worship with other believers in Jesus. We were encouraged through the Scriptures in Spanish from James 4:13-17 being reminded that God’s will is good & perfect. Our team enjoyed seeing some of the teachers and staff from Duolos  again. After church we had a nice lunch at the house cooked by our house chef. Then we headed on a nice hike to a local waterfall. The water was incredibly refreshing because it’s hot outside. Afterwards our team took a walk down to the local town and enjoyed some coffee and desserts at a local coffee house. We spotted a few gatos along the way thanks to Sami Berry’s great navigation. Then we headed home for dinner at the house and a game of “can you guess the 80’s tune ?” It was Michael Berry for the win. Our kids all played a friendly yet somewhat competitive game of Spike Ball before c we all headed to bed for a good night of rest. Tomorrow we start our first service day at Duolos.

Done with day 4, and we want more!

  Done with day 4, and we want more! Look at all the progress done on the mural! We got very far today (despite a paint spill… oops!) It is going to say “eres importante” which means “you are important”. It will be encouraging to those in the Pavas community to see a bright beautiful wall on the side of the Hope Center that tells them they have value. We don’t think that we will be able to finish it completely in our trip, but when the next group comes they will finish it up. We are glad to be a part of it. Today, our Bible story was the parable of the Good, Smart American— oh wait, we mean the Good Samaritan.  The point of the story is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. We also read from 1 John 4, which talks about how God is love, and a love for others flows from a love of God.  Our craft was gospel bracelets! Team Theme

 Our team was been gathering on a monthly basis since February.  The purpose of our meetings was team unity.  As a team, we decided our Team Theme Verse: Mark 10:45 "For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many".  This is our desire as a team.  One of our very own team members, Madeline Bryant designed the logo for our team shirts.  We will wear these around as we serve.  Please pray that we will be given lots of opportunities to serve like Jesus

Costa Rica 2021 Welcome Video!

  (The video format of this post can be found at this link )      Hello people of the internet! My name is Dani and I am on the 2021 Costa Rica team with Frisco Bible Church. We will be going to Costa Rica July 10-17 and we will be working with Hope Partners International. If you would like to learn more about Hope Partners, there will be a link to their website  here .           While we are there, we will be doing campus beautification in the morning, and a VBS-style teaching in the afternoon.
