We made it!

 Praise God! We made it to the Dominican Republic with just a few slight delays. We were off and running after going through Immigration. We had just a short one hour drive to Jarabacoa to the team house with a quick lunch and then off to attend the Doulos Discovery School Graduation. 

Here’s a few pictures from our travels

Our team arrived early to the airport. Check in was at 3 AM. That’s right, you read that correctly and wheels up at 5 AM for takeoff. Unfortunately there was a slight mechanical problem with our plane that caused a delay. to Miami for our flight. We were already pressed for time as it was but we prayed and trusted that the Lord’s plans would prevail. Forty five minutes later we took off with only a 30 minutes delay for our next plane to Santiago DR. We quickly rushed off that plane to grab the next plane. We made it on only to have another delay while waiting for the new crew to come aboard. We were pressed for time in the DR as we needed to arrive by 12:30 PM so we could attend an event that afternoon.
Doulos gave us some great activity sheets for our flights with information.

  Done with day 4, and we want more! Look at all the progress done on the mural! We got very far today (despite a paint spill… oops!) It is going to say “eres importante” which means “you are important”. It will be encouraging to those in the Pavas community to see a bright beautiful wall on the side of the Hope Center that tells them they have value. We don’t think that we will be able to finish it completely in our trip, but when the next group comes they will finish it up. We are glad to be a part of it. Today, our Bible story was the parable of the Good, Smart American— oh wait, we mean the Good Samaritan.  The point of the story is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. We also read from 1 John 4, which talks about how God is love, and a love for others flows from a love of God.  Our craft was gospel bracelets! Dubai Mission Trip 2022

  Our Dubai Mission Team left yesterday.  They have safely arrived at the hotel and are resting and preparing for the Pastor's conference that will begin later this week.  You can follow their mission trip journey here on this blog.  We will provide pictures, videos and updates as we receive them.  Here are some prayer requests that you can begin praying for them as they prepare: Pray for safe travel for our brothers and sisters in Christ from Pakistan Pray for effective communication as AJ and Martin teach.  The material is very heavy in theology. Pray for peace through discussion time Pray for the worship and music time to be enjoyable and glorifying to the Lord Pray for family members that are left back home in Texas.  May the Lord give them endurance

Team Theme

 Our team was been gathering on a monthly basis since February.  The purpose of our meetings was team unity.  As a team, we decided our Team Theme Verse: Mark 10:45 "For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many".  This is our desire as a team.  One of our very own team members, Madeline Bryant designed the logo for our team shirts.  We will wear these around as we serve.  Please pray that we will be given lots of opportunities to serve like Jesus
