Work Hard, Play Hard- a Day of Rest

 Today our mission team had a fun day in the Dominican Republic traveling to Saltos de La Damajagua (27 Waterfalls). We had so much fun enjoying the beauty of the DR hiking and jumping off waterfalls. 

What fun day we all had after a great week of working hard. We even had the Sawyer family come along with us and we thoroughly enjoyed their company. 




This has been a fabulous group of families to serve alongside. After our fun day. We traveled back  home and had one more fabulous authentic DR dinner of meat, rice and plantains. Then we did our final debrief as a team sharing what we learned about the Lord through this mission trip along with our highs and lows of the week. This team has been amazing to serve alongside. We praise God for this opportunity to serve Him, the people of the Dominican Republic and Doulos Discovery School

Tomorrow we will begin our travels back to Texas. Please pray for traveling mercies as we head back home.

  Done with day 4, and we want more! Look at all the progress done on the mural! We got very far today (despite a paint spill… oops!) It is going to say “eres importante” which means “you are important”. It will be encouraging to those in the Pavas community to see a bright beautiful wall on the side of the Hope Center that tells them they have value. We don’t think that we will be able to finish it completely in our trip, but when the next group comes they will finish it up. We are glad to be a part of it. Today, our Bible story was the parable of the Good, Smart American— oh wait, we mean the Good Samaritan.  The point of the story is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Dubai Mission Trip 2022

  Our Dubai Mission Team left yesterday.  They have safely arrived at the hotel and are resting and preparing for the Pastor's conference that will begin later this week.  You can follow their mission trip journey here on this blog.  We will provide pictures, videos and updates as we receive them.  Here are some prayer requests that you can begin praying for them as they prepare: Pray for safe travel for our brothers and sisters in Christ from Pakistan Pray for effective communication as AJ and Martin teach.  The material is very heavy in theology. Pray for peace through discussion time Pray for the worship and music time to be enjoyable and glorifying to the Lord Pray for family members that are left back home in Texas.  May the Lord give them endurance

Team Theme

 Our team was been gathering on a monthly basis since February.  The purpose of our meetings was team unity.  As a team, we decided our Team Theme Verse: Mark 10:45 "For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many".  This is our desire as a team.  One of our very own team members, Madeline Bryant designed the logo for our team shirts.  We will wear these around as we serve.  Please pray that we will be given lots of opportunities to serve like Jesus
